This file includes 78 black and white official photographs taken on the Western Front during the First World War, which now form part of the collection of Field Marshal Lord William Birdwood. These photographs show British officers, Australian soldiers, opening of memorials to fallen soldiers, towns and villages on the Western Front, and celebrations in Lille after the liberation in 1918.
