Three Middle East Peacekeeping Mission leaders conversing. From left to right; Major General (Maj Gen) Claudio Graziano, Force Commande United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), from Italy; Maj Gen Wolfgang Jilke, Force Commander United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), from Austria, and Maj Gen Ian Gordon, head of United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation (UNTSO), from Australia. The three Mission leaders met regularly to co-ordinate operations, policies and relationships. This is one of a series of photographs relating to Maj Gen Ian Gordon AO who retired from the Australian Army in 2009. Maj-Gen Gordon had a long and distinguished career culminating as Deputy Chief of Army (2004-2006) and Head of Mission (Chief of Staff) of UNTSO (2006-2008).
