Papers relating to the First World War service of Major-General Joseph John Talbot Hobbs, 1st Australian Division and 5th Australian Division, 9 February 1916 - 10 December 1917.

This collection primarily contains official records written and compiled by Hobbs in his role as commanding officer of the 1st Australian Divisional Artillery and the 5th Australian Division. Much of the material relates to artillery operations, but also includes broader considerations connected with his promotion to major-general and command of the 5th Australian Division such as the transport of troops.
