Reports relating to the First World War service of Major-General Joseph John Talbot Hobbs, 5th Australian Division, 20-28 August 1918.

This collection contains two detailed reports relating to the Battle of Amiens on 8-11 August 1918. The reports provide background information on preliminary arrangements and plans of attack for individual elements of the operation, and a corresponding narrative of actual events. The reports critically examine the response of central combat arms during different stages of the battle, and offer both concluding observations and recommendations for future operations.
