Description

Papers relating to the Battle of Amiens and the First World War service of Major-General Joseph John Talbot Hobbs, 5th Australian Division, 1-28 August 1918.

This collection primarily contains official records written and compiled by Hobbs relating to the Battle of Amiens on 8-11 August 1918. The collection provides an insight into the level of planning leading up to the battle, and the integration and coordination of different combat arms connected with the Australian Imperial Force and Allied Forces.
