Collection relating to the First World War service of Captain Walter Morris Felix Gamble, 7 and 59 Infantry Battalion and 15 Australian Light Mortar Battery, Egypt, Gallipoli, France, Belgium, 1915-1916.

Wallet 1 of 2 - This wallet contains letters written by Captain Walter Morris Felix Gamble to his father, mother, four younger brothers and his sister from September 1915 to December 1916. The letters, often light-hearted and enthusiastic, contain descriptions, feelings and anecdotes of his experiences in Egypt, Gallipoli, France and Belgium. Gamble also recounts being evacuated from Gallipoli in December 1915, his rest period on Lemnos Island and being hospitised with a mild case of the mumps in Egypt, March 1916.
