Insect repellent canister : Lieutenant R J Fletcher, 2 RAR
Insect repellent canister with screw caps at each end. The words 'REFILL END' are printed in black on one screw cap, and 'SPRINKLER END' on the other. The Sprinkler end has a single small hole to dispense the repellent, and the cap contains a rubber gasket as a seal. Printed on the canister in black on a yellow background are the words 'INSECT REPELLENT Unscrew Cap at Sprinkler. Shake some repellent on to the hand. Apply to hands and all areas of exposed skin. AVOID MOUTH, EYES AND FOREHEAD JUST ABOVE EYEBROWS. Apply at intervals of two hours. KEEP CAPS TIGHTLY SCREWED. DO NOT REFILL ABOVE THIS LINE' (with an arrow indicating the line).
Associated with the service of 235080 Robert John Fletcher. Bob Fletcher was born in Cowra in 1932, and entered the Royal Military College, Duntroon in February 1951. He graduated in December 1954, and served with 2 RAR in Malaya between 1955 and 1957 commanding rifle and mortar platoons.
