Kit bag : Chaplain C W Dillon
Brown lightweight canvas kit bag with 12 metal eyelets around the opening and an internal flap. This internal flap has a faint makers stamp on it with the legible words 'MADE IN AUSTRALIA' and was used to secure the contents when the bag was drawn shut. The bottom of the bag has the number '48461' painted on it in white above three stripes of paint, one red between two yellow. The side of the bag is stamped 'CHAPLAIN C.W. DILLON NX147635'.
Used by NX147635 Chaplain Cecil William Dillon. Chaplain Dillon served at St Andrew's Church of England parish in Strathfield, NSW and on enlistment in the AIF joined units in the Northern Territory, including a period at Larrimah. Chaplain Dillon was discharged on 13 March 1946, with the rank of Captain, from HQ 2 Aust Sup Bde.
