Diary of Lindsay Robert Turner, 1918 (Vol. 5)
Description
Diary relating to the First World War service of Lieutenant Lindsay Robert Turner, 14th Field Artillery Brigade. The diary contains entries from 12 July 1918 to 10 September 1918 and is the fifth of seven volumes written by Turner documenting his service during the war. The diary entries cover his service on the Western Front as part of the 53rd Field Artillery Battery. It contains details on the Allied push towards the Hindenburg Line including the fighting around Amiens in August 1918 and Peronne in September 1918. The diary appears to have been transcribed from originals at some stage after his service in the war.
