Uniform trousers : Captain, Iraqi Army
Description
Olive green trousers of a captain of the Iraqi Army. The trousers have a zippered fly with a metal sliding clip fastener at the waist. There are three wide fabric belt loops, retained at their bottom edges by green plastic buttons. At each hip is a slash pocket lined with coarse white cotton fabric.
History / Summary
Trousers of an Iraqi Army officer's uniform, property of the captain of the Iraqi minelaying tug 'Jumariya' (also known as 'Jamahoria'). This tug was intercepted by a boarding party from HMAS Kanimbla, and was found to be towing a barge loaded with 20 Manta and 48 LUGM sea mines.
