Worsfold, Donald Frank (Private)
Collection relating to the service of NX4218 Private Donald Frank Worsfold, 2/3 Battalion, Second World War. Collection comprises service documents, postcards, a photo album, with headings, captions, drawings and a poem.
The album is well presented, with headings, captions, borders and embellishments done by hand. The first page, entitled "Memories of Crete", contains photographs of original graves of Australian soldiers, including that of NX125 Captain Orpen Boyd Moriarty, and a related poem. Captured in the photographs are military, recreational, cultural, and architectural themes. There are photographs of men in stage costumes; of Stalag VIIA, Moosburg, near Munich; and photographs taken in Westendlager, a staging camp in Munich. Pasted into the back of the album are three pencil drawings.
