Sergeant Rod Smith, one of six Australian Army servicemen to serve with the Commonwealth Military Training Team - Uganda (CMTTU) conducting a class in infantry field tactics for Ugandan Government Forces students in an open air classroom. The CMTTU was a 36 man team, from seven Commonwealth countries, and its role was to train and discipline the Uganda National Liberation Army, formed after the overthrow of Idi Amin. The participating countries were Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, Jamaica, Sierra Leone, Guyana and Tanzania.
