Souvenir pennant : HMAS Anzac (II)
Description
Triangular green felt souvenir pennant with two suspension tires from the hoist, screen printed in yellow, white and red. The pennant reads vertically from the hoist with the ship’s badge showing a Tudor Crown within fern fronds within a rope circle surmounted by a naval crown with 'ANZAC' at the base of the crown. Beneath is a boomerang with two crossed clubs and scroll work containing the motto ‘United We Stand’, beneath this is ‘HMAS Anzac’ and a diamond.
History / Summary
This pennant was made as a souvenir for the crew of HMAS Anzac (II). HMAS Anzac (II) was a Battle Class Destroyer commissioned at Williamstown Naval dockyard on the 14 March 1951 and served in the waters around Korea, during the Korean War.
