Souvenir pennant : HMAS Archer
Description
Triangular blue felt souvenir pennant with two suspension loops from the hoist screen printed in yellow. 'R.A.N.R' reads vertically to the hoist, with the Ship’s badge adjacent, depicting an Archer with drawn bow and arrow, within a rope circle surmounted by a naval crown. Beneath the circle is a boomerang with two crossed clubs and scroll work bearing the motto ‘Swiftly Sure’
History / Summary
This pennant was made as a souvenir for the crew of HMAS Archer. HMAS Archer was an Attack-class patrol boat built by Walkers Limited at Maryborough in Queensland, launched on 2 December 1967 and commissioned on 15 May 1968 as the RAN Reserve training ship, to be based at Sydney.
