Souvenir pennant : HMAS Maryborough
Description
Triangular blue felt souvenir pennant with two suspension ties on the hoist. Screen printed in yellow, white, grey, red and green with 'H.M.A.S MARYBOROUGH' and the ship's badge showing a Corvette (also known as Minesweeper) within a wreath, surmounted by a naval crown and bow at the base. Beneath the wreath is 'R.A.N.'
History / Summary
This pennant was made as a souvenir for the crew of HMAS Maryborough. HMAS Lismore was one of sixty Australian Corvettes (also known as Minesweepers) built during the Second World War in Australia's shipyards as part of the Commonwealth Government's wartime shipbuilding program.
