Letters to the mother of Hugh Barr, 1917-1927
Letters relating to the First World War service of Sergeant Hugh Barr, 44th Battalion. Included are two condolence letters addressed to Barr’s mother from his company commander and battalion adjutant detailing the manner of his death and extolling his nature as a fine soldier. Also included in this file is a letter detailing his Military Medal citation and a letter from the director of the Australian War Memorial which includes a short biography of Barr.
