Description
An Australian soldier and officer, both unidentified, standing on the road side near the base of an observation tower. The tower, erected on a hill by German forces, was used for sighting aeroplanes and connected by telephone and electric wires to a large aerodrome at Morville, about two miles away. The officer appears to be wearing a Military Cross ribbon.
