This file, originally part of Book 19, covers 23 June 1918 to 7 July 1918 and includes documents relating to the Hamel Offensive on 4 July 1918. These documents include a proposal paper issued to the Commander-in-Chief, Sir Douglas Haig, an outline of the offensive that demonstrates Monash's use of the varied resources at his disposal and a number of messages sent by the 4th Army and the Australian Corps in the aftermath of the offensive advising of its success. It also includes a proposed itinerary for the visit of Prime Minister Hughes prior to the battle and a congratulatory letter from the Prime Minister after the successful conclusion of the battle.
