Transcript of diaries relating to the First World War service of 25 Private Thomas James Richards, 1st Australian Field Ambulance. This transcript was made of the second bound volume of Richards’ diaries and covers the period 25 April 1915 to 25 January 1916. As such the entries detail: the landing at Gallipoli and the work of the 1st Australian Field Ambulance during the Gallipoli campaign; the August Offensive; Richards’ medical evacuation to and convalescence in Egypt; his return to Anzac in late October; and the evacuation of Anzac in December. This transcript was made by the Australian War Memorial in 1935.
