Description

Green Kevlar PASGT helmet edged with rubber strip. The leather and webbing liner is attached to the helmet by six screws, that in the centre of the forehead having been painted red. At the rear of helmet liner is a large piece of rubber covering the adjustment buckle. The three point chinstrap has plastic 'fastex' retaining clips on either side of the leather chin piece. A label inside the right hand rear of the helmet reads 'GENTEX CARBONDALE, PA 18407 FSCM 97427', while a white label on the left reads 'PASGT HELMET P/N 0 500048 LARGE'. Written in black felt pen on the back of the helmet is the word 'LARGE', and the name 'CHRIS' appears to have been written below this in black crayon. On the brim at the front is written the word 'LSSIG' (Leading Seaman Signaller) in black felt pen.
