Composite tool : Iraqi minelayer 'Jumariya'
Description
Composite tool, made up of a knife, can opener, bottle opener, nail clippers and file carried by a crew member of the Iraqi minelayer 'Jumariya'. The tool is made of chromed steel with a decorative plastic strip attached to the top handle. The nail file is located on the underside of this handle, while the folding blades of the knife and combined can/bottle opener are stored within the body of the nail clippers.
History / Summary
Composite tool taken from a crewmember of the Iraqi minelaying tug 'Jumariya' (also known as 'Jamahoria'). This tug was intercepted by a boarding party from HMAS Kanimbla, and was found to be towing a barge loaded with 20 Manta and 48 LUGM sea mines.
