Peacekeeper chest webbing MKII
Plat A Tac Peacekeeper chest webbing in British Desert Disruptive Pattern Material (DDPM). The MKII Peacekeeper has two shoulder straps with adjustable 'Fastex' brand clips at the back. The shoulder straps are 50 mm wide and have 4 attachment points on each strap. The reverse of each strap has been reinforced with 50 mm nylon tape. The reverse of the webbing is covered in a tightly woven olive green nylon mesh with an open topped pocket added to the middle of the mesh. The pocket is designed to dump empty magazines from the soldier's weapon before taking a new magazine from the magazine pouches.
In front of the open pocket is a zippered map/notebook pocket. Three twin magazine pouches are set in front of the map/notebook pocket. These pouches are secured with Velcro backed pouch flaps and adjustable 'Fastex' brand clips. On the left magazine pouch's flap is the maker's platypus logo embroidered in olive green cotton. The bottom of each pouch has a metal eyelet set into it for drainage. Beneath the magazine pouches is a zippered pouch designed to hold a weapon cleaning kit or an M18 smoke grenade. Located either side of this pouch are grenade pouches, designed to hold a single anti-personnel grenade. These pouches are secured with velcro backed pouch flaps and a press stud.
Two large pouches, designed to hold the issue water bottle and other accessories are located at each end of the webbing. Each pouch has an elasticised nylon cord and barrel lock at the throat of the pouch. The pouches are further secured by Velcro backed pouch flaps and adjustable 'Fastex' clips. The belt is fastened at the back by two 25 mm nylon webbing straps and adjustable 'Fastex' clips.
