Description
Photograph of Corporal W. Hudson Fysh of the 3rd Australian Light Horse Regiment and the 1st Australian Light Horse Machine-Gun Squadron. Fysh later transferred to the Australian Flying Corps as an observer, gaining the rank of Lieutenant on No. 1 Squadron. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and after the war was allowed to qualify as a pilot. He later went on to become the founder of Qantas and received his knighthood in 1953.
