Tunic
Australian soldiers wore a loose-fitting tunic made from wool. There were four pockets on the outside and another on the inside that held a field dressing packet.
Australian soldiers were also issued a thick woollen trench coat, known as a great coat. They protected against the cold weather and they were also often used as bedding.
What could be some advantages of wearing a tunic made from wool? Would there have been any disadvantages?
