HMAS Warramunga cap

Cap worn by naval personnel serving on HMAS Warramunga, a long-range frigate capable of air defence, surface and undersea warfare, surveillance, reconnaissance and interdiction. The name of the vessel comes from the Warumungu people, from the Tennant Creek area in the Northern Territory. The ship's badge depicts a fearsome Warumungu tribesman about to throw a boomerang, with the motto “Courage in Difficulties” honouring the Warumungu tribe's life of courage in their harsh environment.
