Pakul cap

An Afghani pakul cap. These caps were worn by members of the UN Mine Clearance Training Team (UNMCTT) during their service in Afghanistan from 1989 to 1993. UNMCTT members grew beards and wore pakul caps and robes in order to gain the trust and respect of the local population.
