A British Commonwealth Occupation Force BCOF stamp. The BCOF occupied Japan from 1945 to 1952 to enforce the terms of the unconditional surrender that had ended the Second World War. “B.C.O.F. JAPAN 1946” was overprinted on Australian stamps used by BCOF personnel and postal services.
