Rising Sun Badge

This Rising Sun badge was worn by Private Lila Crawford, Australian Army Medical Women's Service, c. 1941–45.
The Rising Sun badge identified servicemen and servicewomen as belonging to the Australian Army. Australian Army Nursing Service sisters wore a silver badge, while servicemen wore bronze-coloured badges. While the design has changed since the Second World War, the badge is still worn by today’s servicemen and servicewomen.
