Angus Murray, historian and Wiradyuri man, details the tactics and methods Wiradyuri warriors used in 1825–41 against British soldiers and settlers as they attempted to halt or at the very least slow colonial expansion into their traditional lands.
The article covers the Bathurst and Narrandera wars, detailing the early successes of the Wiradyuri warriors. Murray also examines the ways in which soldiers and settlers adapted their tactics to negate the Wiradyuri’s initial gains, often resorting to the most brutal of methods.
