Program of Events
To commemorate the centenary of the Armistice that ended the First World War, a creative program of events will run at the Australian War Memorial for a five week period from 5 October to Remembrance Day, 11 November 2018.

62,000 Poppies Display
A display of handcrafted red poppies on the Memorial's grounds is the centrepiece of Armistice commemorations.
Roll of Honour name projections
The names of those who gave their lives during War are projected onto the façade of the Memorial from sunset to sunrise every night.
Late Night Openings
The Commemorative Area and grounds will be open to the public until 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays during the Centenary of Armistice.
The Diggers' Requiem
The Diggers’ Requiem is an Australian musical tribute to the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War led by Christopher Latham, the Memorial's musical artist-in-residence.
Epitaph
This new museum theatre piece explores the emotions of Australians writing epitaphs for their loved ones who died in the First World War.
First World War image projections
First World War images from the Australian War Memorial's collection will be projected onto the Memorial building.
Hall of Memory Vigil
Australia’s Federation Guard will mount a Catafalque Party vigil in the Hall of Memory to mark the 25th anniversary of the interment of the Unknown Soldier.
Beam of Light
A beam of light will be projected from the parapet of the Australian War Memorial to the Australian Parliament House.
