Description

Snugpak Sasquatch extreme cold weather (ECW) jacket with hood. The jacket is khaki green in colour and is made from a quilted 'PERTEX' nylon fabric. The hood is integral and has elasticised edges. At the back of the hood is an elasticised drawstring with a barrel lock for tightening the neck of the jacket. When the hood is rolled down it is held in place by a nylon strap attached to the inner neckline of the hood, secured by a press stud on the back of the jacket..

Sewn onto the strap is the maker's logo, a snail shell, in green cotton. This logo has also been sewn onto the crown of the hood. Either side of the hood is an elasticised drawstring and barrel lock, designed to draw the hood tightly around the wearer's face without impairing vision. The maker's logo and name 'SNUGPAK' are embroidered in green cotton on the left breast of the jacket. The cuffs of each sleeve are elasticised and have thumb loops let into them. The jacket has a zipper running vertically from hem to throat. Vertically zippered pockets are set into the left and right side of the jacket's waist. The zippers have the maker's details in raised lettering 'SLIK' on the zipper tab. A nylon tab has been threaded and sewn through the eyelet of each zipper to assist in opening the pockets without removing gloves in cold weather.

Inside the right pocket is the jacket's 'STUFF SACK' which is a nylon bag with an elasticised drawstring and barrel lock at the neck designed to store the jacket when not in use. Set into the left and right hem of the jacket are elasticised drawstrings with barrel locks. Set into the base of the hood, just under the hood strap, is the maker's label. A small black loop embroidered with a white cotton square containing an orange snail shell, followed by an orange rectangle with 'SNUGPAK' embroidered in black writing within.

Below this label is a plastic green label with platypus logos in top left and right corners and black printed lettering 'PLATYPUS OUTDOORS GROUP / 2003 / [broad arrow symbol] / NSN 8415-66-148-3386 / SASQUATCH LARGE / JACKET, EXTREME COLD WEATHER / SIZE LARGE, KHAKI GREEN / HOOD AND THUMB HOLES'. Let into the lining over the left breast is a zippered pocket with 'SLIK' in raised lettering on the tab. Makers details and garment care labels have been sewn into the lining of the jacket near the internal zippered pocket. Sewn into the left and right waist of the jacket are two elastic topped mesh pockets, designed to store items out of the elements.
