Royal Australian Air Force brevet

This object relates to the service of David Paul and Leonard Waters.

Known as a brevet, this badge was worn by pilots who flew with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in the Second World War.

The rules of the RAAF regarding the enlistment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders were far less restrictive than those for the Second AIF, yet very few became pilots.
