Description

Informal portrait of 566 Sapper (Spr) Thomas Charles Kelso, of Albury, NSW, 1st Australian Light Railway Operating Company. Spr Kelso enlisted on 20 December 1916 aged 40 and embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Ballarat on 19 February 1917. He was injured on the Western Front which resulted in the loss of an eye. He recuperated in England and returned to Australia on board HMAT Kamala on 1 July 1919.
